The main purpose of the meeting was carrying out a discussion on the current care situation in Kazakhstan, data gaps and problems in care that require government support for better and more efficient research on the care economy.
Oleg Kozyrev, Advocacy Adviser of the Soros Foundation-Kazakhstan and international expert of the project, Prof. Mieke Meurs, Co-Director of the Program on Gender Analysis in Economics at American University (Washington DC), greeted the participants with speeches of welcome.
We are grateful to the activists of the non-governmental sector: Zauresh Battalova (“Foundation for the Development of Parliamentarism in Kazakhstan”), Bayan Akhmetzhanova (“Ardager”), Asiya Akanova (“Kumys Ghasyr”) and Aziza Shuzheeva (“Alliance of Women’s Power of Kazakhstan”) for their active participation and openness to cooperation. We hope that our joint work will contribute to improving the care system in Kazakhstan.
