Maigul Nugmanova, Director of the Gender Economics Research
Center (GERC) at Narxoz University, presented the Center's research on the care economy in
Kazakhstan. The research is being conducted by the Center in collaboration with Professor Mika Meurs
from American University, Washington, D.C. ASEEES, the Association for Slavic, East European, and
Eurasian Studies, established in 1948, is a leading international organization dedicated to advancing
knowledge about Central Asia, the Caucasus, Russia, and Eastern Europe in regional and global contexts.
