Online trainings for the Fellows 2021-2022 with the participation of international experts
The Gender Economics Research Center (GERC) is pleased to announce that from February 24, 2022, under the concept of the project “Care Economy in Kazakhstan”, funded by the Soros Foundation-Kazakhstan, there have been started online trainings for the Fellows 2021-2022 with the participation of international experts. The first online training was held by Professor of American University (Washington, DC, USA) Mieke Meurs on February 24, 2022 on the topic “Gender Analysis and Feminist Economics”, where there was touched such topics as the importance of gender equality for the economic development of countries, the concepts feminist economics, gender analysis in economics, as well as the main characteristics of research methods and the importance of unpaid labor in the economy. As an example of conducting research, Prof. Meurs spoke about specific successful international studies, the methodologies used, the data used, and the software with which data/information can be processed. GERC plans to organize the second training for the Fellows in the middle of March this year. GERC sincerely hopes that Fellows will effectively put into practice the knowledge and skills acquired during the trainings.
