Doctoral Students of Narxoz Presented at CESS Conference in Pittsburgh, USA

From October 19 to 22, 2023, second-year doctoral students of the "Public Administration" program at Narxoz University - Tleuzhanuly Kuandyk and Alimbekova Balayusa - participated in the annual conference of the Central Eurasian Studies Society (CESS) at the University of Pittsburgh, USA.

At the conference, which brought together over 300 delegates from around the world, current topics in the humanities and social sciences related to Central Asia were discussed.

The doctoral students from Narxoz presented reports highlighting the interim results of their research, which sparked lively interest and discussion among the conference participants.

Tleuzhanuly Kuandyk also visited the Annenberg Institute at Brown University (USA) for collaborative work on his dissertation and to exchange experience in the field of educational inequality and elite education in post-Soviet countries.

During his internship at the institute, the doctoral student familiarized himself with its infrastructure and operations, which facilitated his effective adaptation. The primary focus was on researching language educational inequality and the impact of socio-economic status on state-supported elite education.

Kuandyk Tleuzhanuly actively participated in seminars and meetings with postdoctoral researchers, expanding his knowledge and understanding of global educational trends.

He also attended the presentation of the book “Problems of Public Schooling in the American Welfare State” and discussed current issues of the educational system with the authors.

Kuandyk shared his research findings, receiving valuable feedback and suggestions, which was an important stage in his academic development.

Concluding his visit, the doctoral student emphasized the significance of the experience gained and expressed hope for continued collaboration with the Annenberg Institute.

"This visit has enriched me with knowledge and new academic contacts, which will undoubtedly contribute to my further scientific development," shared Tleuzhanuly Kuandyk.
