International Women's Day: How March 8 Was Celebrated at Narxoz University

On March 6, Narxoz University hosted festive events dedicated to International Women's Day. The Student Affairs Office and the active members of the student community organized several unique and creative surprises.
The morning started with a warm and bright welcome. At the main entrance, the women and girls of the university were greeted by a “men’s” corridor with flowers, sweets, and congratulatory postcards. In the photo zone, guests were delighted by a saxophonist and a violinist, creating a cozy and exciting musical atmosphere. Additionally, a real gentleman – a lion in a tuxedo – added a special charm to the event.
Throughout the day, an interactive activity called Mr. Hugs was held at the university. The lion continued to bring smiles and joy, walking around students and staff, handing out treats, and creating unforgettable moments for memorable photographs.
In the university hub, workshops on traditional crafts were held. At the beading workshop, organized by the student organization Jarqyn, participants created unique jewelry pieces. Another workshop, dedicated to sewing felt accessories and organized by the student organization Enactus, introduced participants to traditional Kazakh craftsmanship, giving everyone the opportunity to try their hand at creating accessories. In addition, a wish board was available for everyone to leave warm congratulations and kind words.
