Narxoz University Expands Partnerships with Leading Universities in Pennsylvania and Illinois

During a working visit to Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, USA), the Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in New York, Rauan Tleulin, and the Vice President for Development and International Activities of Narxoz University, Aigerim Raimzhanova, met with representatives of leading universities in Pennsylvania. As part of the development of international cooperation between educational institutions of the two countries, meetings were held with Amy Gadsden, Associate Vice Provost for Global Initiatives at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), and Rogelio Miñana, Vice Provost for Global Engagement at Drexel University.
The meetings focused on opportunities for academic partnerships in business administration, public policy, IT, law, and education management. Both sides explored potential areas of cooperation, including joint academic programs, certification courses, student and faculty exchange programs, research collaborations, and dual-degree programs.
"Partnering with esteemed institutions like UPenn and Drexel University opens new doors for our students and faculty. We look forward to developing long-term partnership that foster interdisciplinary education and global academic initiatives," said Aigerim Raimzhanova.
Additionally, Narxoz University is strengthening its partnership with Penn State University through a 3+1 joint program, where students complete three years at Narxoz and one year at Penn State’s Law School, earning both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in just four years. Penn State faculty also contribute to Narxoz’s summer programs, joint research initiatives, and interdisciplinary academic projects.
Narxoz University is also expanding its collaboration with the Illinois Institute of Technology. In January 2025, two institutions signed an institutional agreement aiming to launch a dual-degree program in September 2025. This initiative will allow students to earn two bachelor’s degrees – one from a Kazakhstani university and one from an American university – in Computer Engineering and Digital Technologies.
During the visit, Consul General Rauan Tleulin also held a series of meetings aimed at strengthening economic, trade, and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Pennsylvania. Discussions with the Head of the Philadelphia Department of Commerce and the Deputy Director of the Governor’s Office for International Business Development focused on expanding economic cooperation and encouraging Pennsylvania-based companies to explore joint investment projects in agribusiness processing, healthcare, and IT.
