A delegation of the Youth Information Service of Kazakhstan, represented by Sukhrab Turdiev and an intern from Uzbekistan Shokhista Kayumova, visited the campus of Narxoz University. During the campus tour, the guests appreciated the opportunities and infrastructure that the University provides for students with disabilities, and exchanged experiences on creating an inclusive educational environment.
Such an environment has been created at Narxoz University. It is based on the principles of diversity, inclusivity and the creation of equal opportunities for all who seek knowledge, regardless of cultural, religious, gender or ethnicity, citizenship, health status or social status. Recall that in the QS 2023 rating, Narxoz received the maximum rating of "5 stars" in terms of "Inclusive environment" along with the quality of education, employment and career opportunities for graduates.
Tactile paths have been installed for people with special needs, there is a Braille map of the campus, indicators on the railings, elevators, an inclined lift, ramps, special toilets and parking spaces are equipped.
The Academic Council of the University has a Committee on Academic Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (CADEI).
Representatives of the working group conduct explanatory work and meetings to discuss the needs of students, teachers conduct open lectures on the formation and improvement of an inclusive environment.
The Narxoz University Business School provides training for tutors.
The inclusive environment continues to improve.
By the beginning of the new academic year, an inclusive classroom will be organized, and the new dormitory will provide special rooms for students with special needs, as well as a dining room, a medical center, a coworking area with Internet access, public spaces for study and recreation.
