Debate for Tenge Day at KazNU: Success of Narxoz University

On November 12, 2024, in honor of Kazakhstan's national currency – the tenge, a large-scale debate tournament was held within the walls of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU). The tournament aimed to enhance financial literacy among young people, emphasize the importance of the national currency, and foster a culture of debate. The event followed the Karl Popper debate format, a popular style where teams of three sequentially present their positions, ask questions, and give concluding speeches. This format helps participants develop critical thinking skills and confident public speaking abilities.
Teams from various universities across the country participated in the tournament, with Narxoz University represented by two factions from the debate club TEO. Both factions demonstrated a high level of preparation and secured prize-winning places.

  • The "TEO" faction won first place, receiving the tournament's most prestigious award.
  • The "Talkhiz" faction took second place, confirming the high level of preparation and skill of the participants.
The Tenge Day tournament became a significant platform for showcasing students' knowledge, critical thinking, and oratory skills. Narxoz University's support for this tournament highlights the institution's commitment to developing student initiatives and the debate movement. Participants gained valuable experience that will contribute to their future success in debates and public activities.
