The Aksu mine has been operating since the 1930s and currently includes mines, a quarry, ore stockpiles, overburden dumps, the Aksu gold recovery plant, a tailing dump and other infrastructure facilities.
The extraction and processing of ore are accompanied by emissions of inorganic dust into the atmospheric air, with the established emission standard for 2020 - 770 tons.
Since 2021, the Kotenko quarry has been added to the expansion of production volumes up to 5 million tons per year. This led to an increase in dust emissions and requires prompt solution of environmental problems to reduce dusting.
The project implementation period is scheduled until November 2022.
