Did you know that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the UN, as well as the 50th anniversary of the first action dedicated to Earth Day, which takes place annually on April 22? In honor of these significant dates, NJSC Narxoz University invites 3-4 year students of Almaty to participate in a competition on the topic: “Implementation of the sustainable development strategy in Kazakhstan: challenges and opportunities”, where each team of at least 2 undergraduate students will be able to write and defend their strategy to promote one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals in Kazakhstan. As part of the competition, students will have to go through the following stages: 1) Registration of teams until 18:00, April 17 and assignment of sustainable development goals to each team by random distribution; 2) Acquaintance with basic information using, but not limited to, the resources indicated in Appendix No. 1. The students who won prizes will receive valuable prizes from NJSC Narxoz University. All students will be issued certificates of participation. Participation format: Development and defense of the strategy: each team needs to develop a strategy to promote a given goal of sustainable development in Kazakhstan and defend it in front of the competition committee in the online presentation format; Preparing a promo video: each team needs to make a short promo video no longer than 1-2 minutes, which will talk about their SDGs. The promo video must be accompanied by an audio track and infographics about the team's SDGs. Each team member will have to upload this video to their personal Instagram account and tag pages (@narxozkz, @narxoz_admission, @sste.narxoz), and add the following hashtags to the post description: #Narxoz_SDGs, #Narxoz_SDGs, #UN_Almaty #UN_SDG, # sste.narxoz #Narxoz_admission, #narxoz_admission. Important: students do not need to go outside and conduct live shooting. All videos must be made online. Participation conditions: send the full text, presentation of the strategy, as well as video and screenshots of posts on Instagram to aibar.sharipov@narxoz.kz with the note “SDG_Competition” in a convenient language for the contestants (Kazakh / Russian / English) no later than 23:59 April 30, 2020.
