The Scientific and Student Club "Owl of Minerva", headed by teachers of SED GED and the Student Research Club, held a Philosophy Olympiad on November 19, 2020, dedicated to the World Philosophy Day. "Owl of Minerva flies out at night!".

The Olympiad in Philosophy was initiated by the leaders of the "Owl of Minerva" club, the leading teachers of the SED GED - Galaev Ruslan Kureishevich, Tashbulatova Mahabbat Kozuyevna, Saudabekova Elmira Kartambaevna.

The Olympiad is timed to coincide with the World Philosophy Day, which, by UNESCO's decision, has been celebrated every third Thursday in November since 2005 This year the holiday is celebrated on November 19 The World Philosophy Day 2020 takes on special significance and is a unique event.

According to the message of UNESCO Secretary General Audre Azoulay, this holiday is celebrated this year in the midst of crises in the world – economic, sanitary, climatic. Philosophers are interested in the existential crisis – during the pandemic, the position of the individual, social relations, the economic and political system and many other aspects are important, consideration of which is necessary in the modern context.

5 teams of 1,2,3 year students took part in the Philosophy Olympiad on 19.11.2020. The teams prepared their performances in advance for the first two numbers of the Olympiad: "Business card", "Philosophical and musical greetings from virtual reality". The teams took part in the following competitions – "Philosophical dish", "Philosophical boomerang", "Philosophical erudition", "Catch the meaning, continue the thought!", "Logical square".

1st place – The Queen's Gambit team of Zarina Maratova - the name of the team - consisting of Victoria

3rd place – the team of Anton Polukhin's ATHENA SQUAD - consisting of Madina Egaubaeva, Valery Podporin, Ilyas Koldasov, Ekaterina Adbulkhasanova.
